    Building Confidence Through Play

For kids and teens, challenges like anxiety, low self-esteem, and social struggles can feel overwhelming. Our trauma-informed youth therapy groups use the creativity of tabletop role-playing games (TTRPGs) to provide a safe, supportive environment where young players practice social skills, emotional regulation, and teamwork while stepping into the role of a hero. As the story unfolds, children and teens discover that their ideas matter, their voices deserve to be heard, and that they can take safe risks while being supported by peers and a licensed therapist. Each session is designed to strengthen resilience, reduce anxiety, and foster confidence that carries beyond the game, into school, friendships, and everyday life.

Helping Your Child Build Confidence and Connection

As a parent, it’s hard to watch your child struggle with anxiety, low self-esteem, social disconnection, or feeling like they don’t quite fit in. You want them to feel confident in themselves and connected to others, but it can be difficult to know how to give them the right support. Our trauma-informed youth therapy groups combine mental health care, creativity, and tabletop role-playing games (TTRPGs) to make growth engaging, collaborative, and meaningful. In every group, kids and teens step into the role of heroes, practicing communication skills, emotional regulation, empathy, teamwork, and problem-solving while adventuring alongside peers in a safe, inclusive, and supportive environment. Through these shared stories, youth discover that their voice matters, that they can face challenges with confidence, and that they belong. Guided by a licensed therapist, each session transforms play into opportunities for connection, confidence, and lasting social skills that carry into school, friendships, and family life.

Helping Youth Find Connection Through Play

Many youth feel disconnected, isolated, unmotivated, or unsure of where they belong. Without a safe and supportive space to explore who they are, it’s easy to feel misunderstood, alone, or discouraged. Our trauma-informed youth therapy groups use the creativity, imagination, and collaboration of tabletop role-playing games (TTRPGs) to help youth build authentic connection with themselves and with others. In these groups, participants become heroes in shared adventures, practicing empathy, communication, teamwork, and problem-solving in a safe, inclusive, and supportive environment. Guided by a licensed therapist, every session turns play into an opportunity for connection, confidence, resilience, and joy.

Testimonials

Colleague, Jillian, LICSW

“Sean approaches each group with thoughtfulness and strong clinical insight. Kids have a lot of fun in his groups, but they also learn so many things like positive social skills, increased tolerance for frustration and how manage their emotions in a safe and productive fashion. It’s rare to find a group that kids actually WANT to attend that also helps them this much!”

Colleague, Brianna, CPS

“The trauma informed TTRPG that I was able to co-facilitate was very unique and outside of the box compared to other groups I have seen and have been a part of! It was nice to watch the kids work through complex situations and flexing their interpersonal skills without even realizing it. To them it was a fun game but through the course of the group you could tell it helped them grow!”
